Situation

Steve Boyette with Sustainable Energy Solutions contacted us to take over maintenance of their

business website

as the previous firm was not responsive to their needs.  We had previously taken over the maintenance of a website for another project that Steve was involved with so he knew the type of continuing service that we provided.

Challenge

Taking over management of a website is a challenge sometimes depending on how agreeable the previous website firm is in working with us during the transfer of control.  If it is an ethical firm that is responsive, then the transfer is fairly routine and ocmpleted in a few days.  If it is a firm that is not responsive or that puts up resistance, then the transfer can be problematic but still doable.

Solution

Steve dropped by the office and outlined what problems he was having, what he needed to have done on the website as well as to ask our suggestions on changes to the website.  We had already reviewed the website and felt tha the overall design was good but that the underlying code was not to

.  In addition, there were many minor problems with the site but nothing major.  The biggest issue that SES had with their website was just getting changes made in a timely fashion with the previous developer.  Steve felt he just couldn't reach them when he needed to reach them which is not a problem with our firm as we provide our cell phone to all clients.  We want clients to reach us when they need us.

Result

Sustainable Energy Solutions has a

that is now based on the

Joomla

platform, is more in compliance with internet standards, we have fixed all the minor problems and made all of the changees that Steve has requested.  This was all done in a matter of a couple of weeks versus months of waiting for changes from the previous firm.  Steve is very satisfied with our firm.
